Volunteer with us
It will not take long for you to realize that your own life changes as you watch someone take the first steps back toward theirs. Most of our volunteers call it the most rewarding thing they have done.
What we are asking you to join
Our goal is to help survivors of commercial sexual exploitation and sex trafficking to recover their lives from powerlessness, restore their dignity and identity, and be released into a life of purpose, productivity and independence.
We are excited for you to join us in this call to those affected by the brokenness of the world we live in. Together, we will see lives changed.

How registration works
The process is the same for every new volunteer serving on an ongoing basis. That includes court-ordered and school-based community service volunteers, students and interns.

Submit the application
Applications are received and processed within two working days.

Attend a volunteer training
You will be registered for a training and will receive the volunteer training manual and packet by email in advance.

Submit a volunteering proposal
Following the guidelines explained during the training.

Complete a background check
Once your proposal is reviewed and approved, you will submit a background check through Sterling Volunteers. We serve a vulnerable population, so this step is not optional for anyone.
Roles we need filled
- Pop-Up at the Laundromat team members
- Academic mentors (background check required)
- Career readiness mentors (background check required)
- Event volunteers for the Barn Dance and Pop-Ups
- Administrative and behind the scenes support
- Skilled professionals: legal, accounting, trades, marketing, grant writing

Before you apply, know this
This work is slow. Relationships at a laundromat can take months before anything visible happens, and some of the women we meet will not leave the life while we know them.
The volunteers who last are the ones who can show up consistently without needing a result to prove it was worth it. If that is you, we would be glad to have you.
Community service hours
We accept court-ordered and school-based service hours. The process and the background check are the same as for anyone else. Mention it on your application so we can plan around your deadline.
