Legacy giving
Keep this going after you.
A legacy gift costs you nothing today and can be the largest gift you ever make. It also outlasts every one of us, which is the point.
Four simple ways to do it
- A will or living trust. Leave a specific amount, or a percentage of what remains after your family is taken care of. A percentage keeps its value no matter how your estate changes.
- A retirement account or IRA. Name LightHousePBC, Inc. as a beneficiary. Retirement assets left to a nonprofit avoid the income tax your heirs would otherwise owe on them, which often makes this the most efficient gift you can make.
- A life insurance policy. Name us as a beneficiary on a policy you already hold, or on one you no longer need for its original purpose.
- A donor advised fund. Recommend a grant now, or name us to receive what remains in the fund.
What your attorney needs
Legal name: LightHousePBC, Inc.
A Florida not-for-profit corporation, tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3)
EIN: 87-3421857
Address: 513 US Hwy 1, #206, North Palm Beach, FL 33408
Hand those four lines to your attorney or financial adviser and they can take it from there.
Please tell us if you have
Legacy gifts are usually made quietly, and we understand why. But if you have named us, we would love to know, for two reasons.
First, so we can thank you properly while you are here to be thanked. Second, because knowing a gift is coming changes what we are able to plan for. A safe house is a long project, and long projects need long commitments.
There is no paperwork and no obligation. A phone call is enough, and we will keep it private if you prefer.
A note on advice
We are not attorneys or tax advisers and nothing on this page is legal or tax advice. Please talk it through with your own professional, who can look at your whole situation.
